DESCRIPTION

A successful candidate will be highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into pragmatic, high impact products and applications. A typical day will include management of expectations and deliverables (mostly science related) across a range of different stakeholders such as engineers, data scientists, finance leads, creatives, and other business managers. Amazon Studios executives are the primary customers for this role.

Amazon Studios is chartered to produce original content and license studio programs worldwide in service of Amazon’s Prime Video customers. The team at Amazon Studios is responsible for bringing popular TV and movies to their customers and introducing distinctive, award-winning originals like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and ground-breaking, popular shows like The Man in the High Castle, Jack Ryan, and The Boys. The Amazon Studios Data Science team focuses on building analytical tools to optimally deploy content investment based on projected value, fit with customer needs, content traits with disproportionate impact, and risk-return tradeoffs.

As a Product Manager, you will oversee the development and management of the team’s science product roadmap. You will work closely with research scientists, applied scientists, data scientists, economists, engineering teams, and business leaders to define and execute your vision in support of content programming & scheduling, portfolio optimization, show development, and greenlighting decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 2+ years of experience with end to end product delivery
· 5+ years of technical product management, program management or engineering experience
· Bachelor’s Degree
· Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
· Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
· Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– MBA with experience in end to end product delivery.
– Prior experience with managing data science products.
– Prior experience in streaming media industry.
– Patience with others; Impatience with technology.
– Eagerness to roll up your sleeves and solve ambiguous business problems.
– Ability to translate broad vision into decisive action.
– Capacity to understand others and ensure they also feel understood.
