Job Title: Software Development Engineer

DESCRIPTION
This position is a part of the Amazon Brand organization which creates, builds and leads innovation for Brand Owners on Amazon worldwide. This position requires a dynamic developer who is entrepreneurial, has the ability to work with the ambiguity involved with launching completely new experiences, can develop and articulate strategic engagement plans and drive their execution.
As an SDE on our team, you will be building cutting edge and highly complex systems to support brand owners around the world on Amazon. The ideal candidate should have a very strong customer focus coupled with a passion for continuous, data driven improvements. They should have a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering creative solutions for complex problems. A commitment to mentoring, teamwork, agility, and strong communication skills are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance requires exceptional technical expertise and a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science and large-scale systems. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about building good software as well as making that software achieve its operational goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
· 1+ years of software development experience with Java, C/C++ or similar languages
· Experience with Object- Programming (OOP) and/or Design (OOD)
· Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, problem solving and complexity analysis
· Excellent communication and analytical skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills.
· Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
· Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· Experience building scalable infrastructure software or systems for commercial online.
· Experience building ecommerce sites and back end systems.
· Experience developing Unit Tests using tools such as JUnit to verify your code quality.
· Experience with AWS EC2, EBS, RDS, SWF, etc, or other cloud compute-based and platforms.
