A day in the life
In this role you will work with AVS SDK core technology teams responsible for enabling 3P device integrators with the ability to have Alexa Built-In products. We are seeking strong QA engineers who love to explore creative testing and automation strategies in an ever expanding space.

About the hiring group
The AVS SDK team owns the core technology used in all 3P headless and multi-modal devices. Some examples of products using the core sdk technology include Bose, Sony, Samsung, LG, Xbox, Facebook, Acura, Lamborghini and more! Our team is pivotal to helping the devices organization reach a billion endpoints and beyond. Our team brings the highest quality to this open-sourced code and help ensure a consistent Alexa experience for our 3P partners.
We are highly collaborative and dedicated team that takes great pride in seeing our technology used in hundreds of different device types.

Job responsibilities
Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo.

What will you help us create?

The AVS Voice SDK and Smart Screen SDK, in conjunction with the Alexa Voice Service (AVS) in the cloud, enable developers to integrate Alexa directly into their products, bringing the convenience of voice control to any connected device!

This is a high visibility program, with far reaching impact across all products using the SDK. You would be leveraging both manual and automated testing methodologies along with black box and grey box techniques to ensure we’re raising the bar on quality across our products. With the ability to understand software internals and debugging techniques using logs and external tools you would be authoring and executing both manual and automated test strategies.

We need to adhere to strict guidelines for quality, customer experience, performance, and latency. All of these constraints provide unique challenges to the team.

We are looking for a self-motivated and highly technical QAE to join our team to help us achieve the mission of consistent and reliable quality coverage across both SDKs and ship high quality feature simultaneously across first party and third party platforms.

Responsibilities:

As a pioneering QAE in the team you would be laying the foundation for solid QA best practices, test strategies, optimal manual/automated test execution, and consistent/predictable quality metrics release-over-release. You would be working directly with automation teams, software developers, product managers, UX and CX teams to understand feature demand, requirements, and critical customer use cases resulting in exhaustive test plans and clear coverage. You would be responsible for instilling a strong sense of quality throughout the SDLC proactively offering direction and influence over feature implementation, debuggability, supportability, and longevity of features.

If you are creative, customer focused, have a passion for QA and test automation and enjoy working in a fast paced environment, this team is right for you.
