The MAS2 US ADC Kodiak team is looking for an Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Engineer to support the AWS Snow Family!

AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.

The Kodiak team supports the AWS Snow Family Service! AWS Snow Family enables customers to more quickly and easily adopt the AWS cloud, gaining the advantages that AWS has to offer. The devices we produce are ruggedized and secure, designed to survive rough handling and harsh operating environments where data needs to be collected, processed, and securely managed as it is moved to the Cloud. This work requires us to develop processes, procedures, and facilities that allow customers to easily use our products and enable us to meet customer expectations on security and speed.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Denver, CO: This position starts at $85,900-$150,400 annual base salary only. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Arlington, VA: This role will sit in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million square feet of energy efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs. Our employees and the neighboring community will also benefit from the associated investments from the Commonwealth including infrastructure updates, public transportation improvements, and new access to Reagan National Airport.

Key job responsibilities
We’re looking for an Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineer (ADCE) to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD.

In this role, you will support AWS Snow Family engineering and operations. This will include identifying and resolving issues, automating repetitive processes, and working closely with development teams. You will dive deep into code and logs, drive prioritization of operational issues, and become intimate with the architecture of our systems.

A day in the life
On a “typical” day, our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes. As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide troubleshooting and operations support, and innovate to automate operational tasks.

In this role, you are able to take a defined set of tasks and execute it on schedule. You identify ineffective processes. You may identify when technical implementations have defects or are not highly available, performant, or maintainable. You understand operational risk and avoid taking unnecessary risks. You identify operational concerns and resolve, mitigate, or escalate the concerns in a timely manner.

Denver, CO: The total compensation minimum for this role is: $137,500. Total compensation includes base pay, and may include a sign-on bonus and restricted stock units as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 1+ years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows).
· Experience working with scripting languages.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
· In lieu of above relevant work experience, degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 1+ years experience with cloud computing technologies.
· 1+ years of networking experience.
· 1+ years of experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments.
· Experience automating routine tasks.
· Experience troubleshooting.
· Experience with performance and log analysis.
