Amazon Robotics empowers a smarter, faster, more consistent customer experience through automation. Amazon Robotics automates fulfillment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management, computer vision, depth sensing, machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands. Amazon Robotics has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas.
Amazon Robotics co-op opportunities will be based out of the Greater Boston Area in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough, MA and North Reading, MA. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.
Key job responsibilities
In this role you will support the quality and reliability of Amazon Robotics products deployed across Amazon’s global operations. Partnering with development teams to drive lessons learned into new product designs, you will conduct analysis of field failures to identify product risks. You will collaborate with internal teams and customers to prioritize opportunities for product improvement and drive corrective and preventative actions.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting field failure investigations through the CAPA process, identifying and implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Supporting the standard work of the Quality, Reliability and Failure analysis team
- Statistical analysis of field performance data and KPIs
- Hardware root cause analysis in the lab
About the team
The Hardware Quality and Reliability team within Amazon Robotics partners with new product development teams to deliver automation products that are reliable and exceed customer expectations. We also manage the field performance of those products, through Data Analytics and Structured Problem Solving methods to ensure continuous improvement.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in and pursuing a Bachelor’s (or higher) in an engineering discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar, with a graduation date of September 2023 or later
- Must be eligible and available full-time (40h / week) internship from January 9th to June 23rd 2023
- Strong problem-solving and debugging experience related to hardware, software, subsystems, and firmware
- Experience in testing electronics and/or electro-mechanical products in a lab setting
- Proficiency with Minitab, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with quality tools and concepts including 8D, SPC, MSA, Six Sigma, FMEA
- Previous undergraduate or graduate level course work in Quality/Reliability engineering and statistics
- Working understanding of bench top instruments including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, etc. and familiarity with schematics
- Proficiency with PTC Windchill Quality solutions, Reliasoft Synthesis platform tools, SQL, AutoCAD, Agile PLM, MS Project, Visio, Tableau
