Job Title: Controlled Substance Compl Mgr.

DESCRIPTION

Amazon’s Pharmacy Compliance team is seeking a Controlled Substance Compliance Senior Manager to oversee the controlled substance compliance program and integrity team. In this role, the Controlled Substance Sr Manager will have the opportunity to build a foundational element of the compliance team from the ground up, which includes policy development and implementation as well as the development of business practices associated with our controlled substance dispensing and inventory. A successful candidate in this role will be able to quickly learn the pharmacy business and build strong working relationships with stakeholders. This individual will be responsible for carefully monitoring all aspects of the controlled substance lifecycle and have the backbone to identify opportunities for improvement. A strong candidate will think big and be comfortable working with Pharmacy Operations, Legal, Loss Prevention and other stakeholders to strategize on how to strengthen and scale our controlled substance processes. The ideal candidate needs to be detail and data oriented in order to roll out new processes and effectively monitor successful implementation. You should be a self-motivated individual interested in the pharmacy business and able to work both independently and collaboratively. As part of this team you will be expected to consistently meet and raise the high bar of compliance and operational excellence as we rapidly grow, scale, and innovate and ultimately make Amazon Pharmacy the most customer-centric pharmacy on Earth.

Key job responsibilities
Create a strategic vision for end-to-end management of Controlled Substances

Develop & Manage Controlled Substances Policies and Procedure
Partner with stakeholders to create and implement effective controlled substance processes

Monitor the Prescription Monitoring Programs (PMP) processes
Understand and own loss and reporting
Partner with legal and loss prevention on investigations

Develop methods to measure and report on the effectiveness of the controlled substance compliance program

A day in the life
Partner with stakeholder teams including Pharmacy Operations, Loss Prevention, Legal and others.

Develop, communicate, and roll-out strategic initiatives to support controlled substance oversight

Monitor controlled substance processes for effectiveness and adherence to requirements

Maintain policies, procedures, reporting, and other documentation related to controlled substances

Partner with loss prevention to identify and investigate variances

Internally report on controlled substance metrics

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree with 3+ years healthcare compliance, loss prevention, or operations experience OR
Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy or experience working for a healthcare organization in compliance

Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and laws

Business proficiency in speaking and writing

Aptitude for building strong working relationships

Proven organization skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities

Strong written and verbal communication

Attention to detail and thorough documentation practices

Willingness to travel up to 30%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy

Pharmacy operations experience

Loss prevention experience

Deep understanding of regulations governing the Pharmacy industry, especially Controlled Substances

Experience with data analytics and data based decision-making

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Detail oriented and organized

Demonstrated ability to deliver results

Comfortable running meetings with stakeholders

Aptitude for building strong working relationships

Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision

Proven ability to manage competing priorities.

The base pay range for this position is $133,300-180,300 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
