Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

This position is in fiduciary administration and oversight and will be responsible for working with the Director of Tax to oversee and centralize the administration of the firm’s external custody trust disbursements, fiduciary reconciliations, processing of IRA RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) notices, and other risk related controls and processes. This position is also responsible for supporting the Fiduciary Services Department in identifying, monitoring and controlling the firm’s operational risk for trust administration and related fiduciary activities. In particular, individuals will be concerned with centralizing certain fiduciary processes to limit risk exposures resulting from human error and non-compliance, etc.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the Fiduciary Center of Excellence by collaborating effectively with relationship managers and client service teams to provide timely and quality centralized review and coding of external custody disbursements and processing of IRA RMD notices.
  • Encourage and monitor compliance with fiduciary policies and procedures by performing reconciliations and maintaining other risk related controls.
  • Support the Fiduciary Center of Excellence as it builds out additional centralized processes and risk related controls.
  • Report issues and findings to Director of Tax.
  • Work with Compliance, Governance and Controls, Risk Management and Internal Audit to improve controls and mitigate risks to the fiduciary business.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, finance or related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in investment management, client management, compliance, audit or trust and account administration
  • An expanded knowledge of fiduciary and trust account administration, including the ability to read and interpret a trust document and general understanding of principal and income accounting concepts.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and experience with multiple trust and investment management software applications
  • Strong team orientation, client service orientation, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines and other time sensitive situations
  • Excellent judgment and ability to work independently
  • Strong understanding of the processes and controls of various business areas and assessing the risks associated with these various processes
  • CTFA certification, a plus.
