DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers critical applications for hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. The Training and Certification team aims to train 100+ million learners on the AWS Cloud. We will get there by providing world class learning experiences, designed and built with our customers in mind.

To achieve this goal, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. We are looking for a technology leader with a proven track record to be the Single Threaded Owner of our self-paced learning technology. Self-paced learning is a combination of personalized and searchable video content, practical hands-on learning experiences in a controlled AWS Console environment along with new innovative ways of engaging with AWS that helps learners shorten their time to proficiency. In this role, you will empower businesses, partners and educational institutions to manage and deliver the right training at the right time to their employees and students; motivate aspiring and current AWS professionals, accelerate their learning outcomes and improve skill retention utilizing modern AWS technologies, best-in-class educational science and machine learning applications

This position requires high judgment, and the ability to articulate a vision that starts with our customers and leverages world class technology and engineering practices. You will partner with other teams across Training and Certification to deliver engaging self-paced learning and immersive hands-on learning experiences that shorten the learners’ path to proficiency, and demonstrate their proficiency through AWS certifications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience
· 8+ years of experience designing and developing solutions in distributed systems environments
· 5+ years of experience managing product managers and software development teams
· 3+ years managing software development managers
· Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with Amazon Web Services
· Experience in the TechEd industry
· Able to work in and manage a diverse team
· A deep understanding of software development, and a proven track record of shipping software products on time
· Demonstrated creativity and judgment in developing exceptional experiences to customers
· Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Entrepreneurial spirit combined with strong program and product management skills
· A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
· A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
