Description:

My Brothers’ Keeper is a non-profit organization that has been serving our community for over 30 years. We are looking for a human resources manager to join our mission in providing excellent care and support to the individuals we serve. The human resources manager will support program management with recruiting, hiring, training, managing and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as a team member to provide excellent care and support to those we serve.
  • Ensure program staffing goals are met and develop recruiting strategies.
  • Provide training support to directors, coordinators and direct support professionals.
  • Create and update job descriptions and classifications as needed.
  • Maintain HR records.
  • Administer workmen’s compensation, unemployment and benefits.
  • Ensure that all legal employment requirements are being met.
  • Write policies, procedures, investigation reports and responses to complaints.

Requirements:

Experience must include the following:

  • 3+ years of HR experience
  • Labor and employment law
  • Benefits administering
  • Unemployment law and administration
  • Leave management
  • Worker’s compensation
  • Job analysis and classification
  • Recruiting and hiring
  • Performance management

Experience desired but not required:

  • 245D HCBS standards
  • Person centered thinking and planning
  • Home health care including PCA and respite services
  • Adult foster care
  • Working with non-profit organizations

Other Hiring Criteria:

  • The ability to write detailed narratives with grammatically correct sentences.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid MN driver’s license
  • Proficient with basic computing functions including personnel and billing software, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A passion for serving those in need.
  • Ability to work independently and run an HR department with little supervision or oversight.
  • Pass a background check.
