BON SECOURS RICHMOND LABORATORY SERVICES
Position Summary
Prepare specimens for analysis by registering and accessioning orders via Hospital Information System (HIS/Epic) and Laboratory Information System (LIS/Sunquest), verifying specimen acceptability. Perform established pre-analytical laboratory procedures, not requiring Medical Technologist interpretation, in accordance with established laboratory policy in an accurate, safe, and timely manner.
Job Requirements
- Prefer some college and/or 3+ years’ experience working in the lab as a Lab Assistant.
- CLS students as well as students with Biology and Chemistry degrees are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to read and write, follow oral and written instructions, as well as familiarity with laboratory equipment at a level generally acquired through the completion of a high school education or G.E.D.Experience preferred but not required.
- Requires general computer skills.
- Previous experience with HIS/LIS preferred.
