What You’ll Do

As a Senior Associate Technical Editor, you will work with subject matter experts (SMEs) in SAS Technical Support to create a variety of self-help resources for SAS customers. These resources are vital to customer satisfaction with SAS. You will also work closely with Technical Support SMEs and senior leadership on various projects to support Technical Support.

You Will

  • Work with SMEs to clearly and concisely present technical information, in the appropriate format, for external and internal customers.
  • Edit a variety of deliverables, including the following:
    • SAS Notes
    • Internal articles and references pages
    • Content for the SAS customer-support website
    • Technical papers
    • Conference papers and presentations
  • Research and write internal articles (sometimes interviewing SMEs) and create internal reference pages as needed.
  • Assist managers on special projects.
  • Help test new software and create documentation for it.
  • Act as a department contact for a specific editing area.

What We’re Looking For

  • Typically requires two years of experience editing technical documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field
  • Mastery of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, research, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and use software that is necessary for the job, including internal tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn and uphold a corporate style, to apply standards consistently, to apply correct formatting, and to follow group processes and procedures
  • Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and shift from one project to another

Other Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of HTML
  • Knowledge of global English guidelines
  • Ability to work independently and effectively
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of different teams across SAS
