Job summary
We are seeking an analytical, creative, and forward-thinking finance leader to join the AWS Infrastructure Finance Team as a Senior Finance Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). In this role, you will lead the FP&A team within AWS Infrastructure that is responsible for segment reporting. This includes ownership of the process for assigning Infrastructure costs, which drives our overall segment reporting. You will drive strategic initiatives to improve the quality and timeliness of business insights provided to AWS leadership, including ongoing efforts around automation and overall process improvement. You will manage operational planning and month end close processes including analyzing segment data and financial metrics and preparing business narratives for AWS leadership.
The successful candidate possesses strong leadership skills and business acumen, is capable of influencing the organization to drive results, and has a passion for improving existing processes. The candidate also possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, a structured approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Liaise across the AWS finance community to drive core financial processes including annual operating plans, monthly/quarterly business reviews and assessment of risks/opportunities, and month-end close.
• Collaborate with teams to simplify, standardize, and automate segment reporting processes and analytics.
• Communicate financial metrics and business drivers to AWS leadership.
• Develop and enhance the existing cost assignment process including partnering with the TM1 systems team to implement such enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with finance and accounting controls and systems.
• Lead and manage special projects, working cross-functionally with other AWS teams.
• Foster constructive and proactive communication across organizational boundaries.
• Lead and manage a high performing team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 12+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
• Prior FP&A experience in a global, multi-layered organization, with a successful track record of managing a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
• Strong financial acumen including advanced accounting knowledge and experience with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Cognos/TM1 skills and ability to quickly learn other proprietary Amazon systems.
• High attention to detail, comfort with ambiguity, and an ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy.
• Experience performing financial and ad hoc analyses and providing recommendations to management based on results.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills and experience working with and presenting to senior executives.
