Job Title: Manager, Product Management, GTM

DESCRIPTION

The SageMaker services team within AWS is responsible for setting the strategy and delivering machine learning services across multiple segments and requirements to AWS customers. The Machine Learning Automation and Science (MLAS) team builds ML and data processing capabilities and services that make it easier to develop ML solutions on top of the SageMaker Foundation service. For example, the MLAS team builds Autopilot that makes it easy for non ML builders to get started by automatically preparing data, building ML models, and tuning them. Similarly, the MLAS team builds algorithms so customers do not have to build the algorithms themselves, and builds JumpStart so that customers can quickly set up end-to-end ML solutions, deploy and fine tune pre-built models with a single click. MLAS team builds Data Wrangler which makes it easy for customers to engineer features and prepare their data in just a few clicks for the ML workflow. JumpStart and Data Wrangler were launched at re:Invent 2020.

This team is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead go-to-market (GTM) strategy and planning to drive customer adoption and revenue growth. To do so you will develop positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans for product areas within our portfolio. You will be the end-to-end owner of outbound campaigns that span channels (Web, social media, sales enablement, and more) to put those plans into action, measure results, and communicate impact. With a focus on adoption and customer success, you’ll collaborate with AWS marketing, business development, and field teams to develop materials that support the outbound strategy with a data-backed understanding of customer success patterns. This is a great opportunity to help customers of all types, from startups to the largest enterprises, to accelerate their journey to AWS SageMaker.

The ideal candidate will have a business and strategic background that enables them to deeply understand customer problems and challenges, drive a customer engagement from start to finish, and interact at both the executive level and with engineering leaders at our customers, as well as sufficient technical background to work with both our engineering teams and with customers in building solutions with our services. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus within AWS and within customer organizations. Good business judgement, and a keen sense of ownership, drive, tenacity and scrappiness are a must.

Responsibilities include:
§ Develop go-to-market plans for product areas within our portfolio
§ Analyze target market segments and design positioning and value propositions for each segment
§ Apply understanding of industry and competitive context to shape messaging about how our solutions address customer needs

§ Scale go-to-market efforts through internal enablement activities
§ Work effectively across AWS with groups such as sales, business development, product marketing, and evangelism to achieve business goals

The successful candidate understands customer needs and communicates value propositions that make sense to customers for technical products. This candidate will shape those value propositions into effective content, product launches, and campaigns that drive adoption. The candidate will work effectively with stakeholders in service teams, marketing, business development and sales to put plans into action. The ideal candidate understands the industry context and inputs to building great products, but enjoys focusing energy outbound on attracting customers and increasing technical product adoption.
