Social Media Manager

Reports to: Director of Ecommerce

Start Date: July 2021

Location: Charlotte, NC


cbdMD is seeking an all-star Social Media Manager to lead our organic efforts across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more. This person will make an immediate impact as a leader on our dynamic marketing team and will be asked to hit the ground running in our fast-paced environment.


The Social Media Manager will report directly to the Director of ecommerce and be responsible for everything from daily posting to overarching strategy and promotions. Our organic social is viewed as both a place to build community as well as a revenue-generating channel, so you should have experience with both. You will stay on top of all of the latest trends and algorithm changes, be color-coded sock drawer organized, and live in the data and metrics. You should understand how organic social media fits into an overall marketing strategy and implement ways to push our online presence to the next level.


An ideal candidate should have experience in branding, ecommerce, and digital marketing. You know all of the existing social media platforms like the back of your hand and have working knowledge of programs such as Grin, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, and MishGuru. Experience in Google Analytics, Excel/Google Sheets, and Adobe Suite is strongly preferred. This position will also have at least one direct report and should have experience managing and leading a team.



●     Managing day-to-day functions of Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn

●     Manage our newly formed micro-influencer program

●     Identify, interpret, and capitalize on social media trends

●     Create engaging content that converts to website traffic and sales

●     Plan, manage, coordinate, execute and track the results of all social media programs & initiatives

●     Work closely with other marketing departments to ensure tight integration of all social media programs & initiatives

●     Develop unique value propositions, business partnerships, and social media programs that are targeted toward key customer segments

●     Develop benchmark criteria to measure the effectiveness of social media programs and implement improvements as required

●     Participate and initiate online conversations across a variety of channels

●     Educate and prepare key messaging and presentation material for senior management and other marketing departments

●     Collaborate with internal departments to provide support to their initiatives

●     Measure the success of social media activities and report the results to management

●     Create, maintain, and execute a social media editorial calendar and posting schedule



●     4 year college/university degree or equivalent experience

●     3 years experience running organic social media channels for a brand/company

●     1 year experience managing employees

●     Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Drive, Excel, and Adobe Suite

●     Working knowledge of programs such as Grin, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, MishGuru, and Meltwater

●     Strong analytical, planning, forecasting, and research skills

●     Excellent communication and writing skills

●     The ability to manage multiple priorities and demanding timeframes

●     Must excel at online research, possess excellent writing skills, and have the ability to create editorial content at a moment’s notice

●     Experience in advertising, public relations, and online marketing is a must

●     Experience in integrating content into multiple social distribution channels

●     Interest in sports and sponsorships preferred

●     Some travel is required
