Job summary
Do you enjoy working in a 0-to-1 space? Twitch and Podcasts are Amazon’s creator first media businesses, and both businesses use advertising to generate revenue, produce income for our creators, and connect brands and customers.
We are at the first stage of building ad products for these spaces, and you will have the chance to invent this experience while having a front-row seat to these businesses as they expand.
You’ll work across Amazon’s ad tech systems, utilize AWS tools, and have the opportunity to design and build front-end and back-end applications.

We are looking for highly motivated software development engineers to design, develop, and maintain systems that serve the needs of our growing advertiser base. As a member of this team, you will:

• Share in the ownership of the technical vision and strategy of our products.
• Be responsible for every aspect of the software development cycle, including designing software and system solutions, integration with internal data warehouses, building data pipelines, services and UI workflows, deploying software using continuous integration tools, and monitoring KPIs to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Drive process improvements that scale the impact of your team.
• Collaborate in a team of top-notch, multi-disciplinary technical professionals to deliver on behalf of customers.
• Use introspection and feedback from teammates and peers to raise the bar for your team.
• Be an example of Amazon’s leadership principles and work to grow peers within your group.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of industry experience in software development
• Graduate-level degree in computer science or related technical field
• Experience with data engineering
• Experience with Agile software development, for example Scrum or Kanban
• Experience playing a significant role in designing, building, and successfully delivering complex software systems
• Experience mentoring junior software development engineers to improve their skills
