Job Title: Software Development Manager.


The Amazon Music Personalization team is responsible for creating personalized content within Amazon Music’s ecosystem. Additionally, we collaborate closely with various Amazon Music teams to personalize experiences and enable ML across diverse use cases.

As a Software Development Manager you will lead a team of software engineers and work closely with the Applied Scientists. You will collaborate with Music ML and Personalization Product Management to set the goals and roadmap for your team. You will mentor and develop your team and work with them to achieve their career goals.

· 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
· 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
· Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
· Java services development experience
· Experience with back-end distributed systems


· Experience in managing teams responsible for search relevance and ranking
· Good understanding of ranking algorithms and related engineering systems
· Experience in building machine learning systems in production
· Experience scaling up applied science and data teams
· Deep hands-on technical expertise in service oriented architecture
· Extraordinary customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts with optimal solution
