Have you wanted an opportunity to make an impact on a space program with substantial scope and consequence? Are you looking to use your skills and knowledge of the spaceflight environment to design next-generation high performance avionics for use on orbit? We have the job for you. Amazon is developing a satellite internet constellation designed to provide broadband access to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Join us and make a difference for customers around the world.

Key job responsibilities
Amazon seeks a Senior Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Engineer who will focus on testing of avionics and payload/antenna subsystems for our low-earth-orbit satellite. This role will include (but is not limited to) the following:

· Work with hardware design teams as a subject matter expert in electromagnetic environmental effects testing throughout the end-to-end development process including test requirements, test readiness reviews, EMC test and support, best-practice documentation, and production to deliver satellite hardware that meets all mission requirements.
· Complete EMC test procedures and test reports, support teams with test configurations, and perform conducted emissions, susceptibility (RE/CE/RS/CS), lightning (at launch site), and surface/bulk charge testing.
· Collaborate with teams for definition and support of LRU cable harnesses, loads, and test racks for EMC testing.
· Work with electronic component design teams to communicate requirements related to electromagnetic environments, inform and drive test changes to reduce EMI concerns and debug/root-cause EMI issues on subsystems and the overall spacecraft.
· Define and coordinate EMI/EMC testing for all satellite electronic subsystems and vehicle/spacecraft level.

A day in the life
The team is responsible for architecting and development of satellite bus systems as well as working across the payload on design and development of complex communications systems. In addition to satellite systems, we also play a key role in the development of the Kuiper Customer Terminal. The team delivers in multiple areas such as bus development, payload development, embedded SW, signal integrity, radiation, power, PCB development, and EMC test. The team includes hardware-in-the-loop development for satellite systems to build out an extensive set of test systems for validated satellite systems.

About the team
The Project Kuiper Electrical Engineering team is responsible for the development, test, and integration of multiple satellite systems.
