DESCRIPTION

Job summary
We have exciting things going on in the Enterprise Engineering organization, and we are looking for a Senior Product Manager – Technical (PMT) who is ready to join our builder-centric organization and help us innovate on behalf of our customers.

You will join a growing team to build and operate the platforms Amazonians use to collaborate including IM, meeting applications, meeting scheduling, livestreaming, and telephony.

We are looking for a Sr. PMT to manage the end-to-end user experience and help design, build, and launch the next generation platforms that enable hundreds of thousands of Amazonians to stay connected. You will partner and influence the direction of multiple engineering teams within and outside of Enterprise Engineering to deliver the right products and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical product management background, with a proven ability to execute strategically and tactically, and be excited to take on new projects solving Amazon-scale challenges. You will have demonstrated experience in influencing technical priorities and business strategy through data-driven decisions.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will own the vision, strategies, capability roadmaps, and feature priorities for Engagement Platforms at Amazon. You will work closely with customers across Amazon to deliver strategic products and services that raise the bar for collaboration. You will work closely with stakeholders across various software and business teams to identify and drive innovative solutions that achieve business goals. You will design for a global audience, delivering secure, highly scalable, highly available services for all your customers. You will join a group of technology leaders determined to delight our customers while driving Amazon forward.

The successful candidate will form a vision that gets to the core of what customers value, define strategies that move that vision forward, and exert influence to align diverse stakeholders. Candidates should enjoy working in a collaborative, analytical, and fast-paced environment, and be comfortable interacting with highly technical cross-functional teams. Candidates must dive deep into data, have strong writing skills, and be comfortable leading executive-level reviews. This is a highly strategic position that will impact the direction of Amazon’s Engagement Platforms going forward.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* 6+ years of experience in technical product management
* 5+ years of experience with Engagement Platforms (IM, meeting applications, telephony, meeting scheduling, fax)
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, design or related field
* 5+ years of experience leading initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders (design, engineering, usability, content development)
*5+ years of experience using data and metrics to develop business cases

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries
* Deep hands-on technical expertise in designing, building, or managing Engagement Platform related products
* Experience as the lead product manager for a large scale Engagement Platform product
* Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns
* MBA or equivalent degree
* Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly products and customer-facing features
* Experience operating in a global environment
* Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
* Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
* Proven track record of delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives while managing multiple competing priorities.
