Metadata is at the heart of Apple Media Products (AMP), powering key aspects of the customer experience including UI, Search, and Siri. Video Operations is responsible for ensuring world-class quality and discoverability of AMP metadata. We’re looking for a self-motivated, resourceful metadata specialist with a real passion for media metadata to take TV+ to the next level. As part of the TV+ metadata team, you will be responsible for managing the TV+ metadata catalog, driving and enriching the metadata’s accuracy and quality, and identifying and seeking opportunities for technical and tactical solutions to better the customer experience. Key Qualifications

5 to 8+ years of experience in digital media, technology, or related industry

Project and/or program management experience, certifications are a plus

Experience working with cross-functional teams supporting key stakeholders such as Engineering, Product, and Business

Experience working with temporary agency workers (contractors). Vendor-managed service and or a deliverables-based model is a plus

Expert-level understanding of a data pipeline – from ingestion to integration to consumption – as well as data management and visualization tools

Proven track record of identifying, troubleshooting, scoping and diagnosing data issues in order to resolve or escalate to engineering, data analytics, solutions, or other appropriate cross-functional teams

Possess a deep understanding of complex, large-scale media content management systems (CMS), and how metadata interplays and impacts the end-user experience

Phenomenal interpersonal communication skills with the ability to facilitate productive discussions, build consensus within teams and key partners

Extraordinary attention to detail while running multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment, ability to be decisive, and willing to lead the hard calls

Ability to read XML is preferred; Tableau, Python, SQL familiarity is a plus

An understanding of the TV app’s services and features. Familiarity with TV+ content is a bonus.

Description

The AMP Video Operations Metadata Team provides 24/7/365 operational support for Apple TV+ art & metadata. You will acquire an expert-level understanding of our data pipeline – from ingestion to integration to consumption – as well as our content management systems and tools. Work cross-functionally with multiple teams in various locations; fielding questions, reporting issues, and ensuring the highest quality experience to our customers. Manage the TV+ metadata catalog once it’s in our database, oversee newly-ingested data and prepare it for featuring, capture outstanding issues present in the service, and implement fixes and updates. Enhance the current program and build new infrastructure to support future projects and metadata types that will drive key elements of the experience. Analyze the TV+ data health and work closely with engineering teams to identify, diagnose, and quickly bring functional issues to resolution. Build upon and develop reporting, insights, and quality metrics. Proactively and frequently communicate status reports back to stakeholders. Identify and seek opportunities for continual process improvements that produce quantifiable operational efficiency gains and engineering offsets. Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience. 5 to 8+ years of experience in digital media, technology, or related industry
