Hosts are at the center of everything we do. Airbnb creates opportunities for millions of hosts to build businesses, form relationships, and positively impact their communities. We are looking for a fantastic writer with a sharp eye for messaging and positioning, as well as a deep understanding of email marketing, social, in-product channels. They are fluent with AI tools and use them daily to move faster, whether drafting, iterating on a brief/creative, or analyzing sentiment and performance. They are as comfortable building a campaign themselves as they are directing one. They will bring a tremendous passion for Airbnb’s mission, empathy and understanding of our community, and a go-getter approach. This role will bring together traditional product marketing and communications skills to drive adoption for key products and features, foster host success, and engender trust in Airbnb as hosts’ platform of choice.

  • Identify key audiences and segments to focus on, and build plans that support these goals.
  • Work in partnership with owned one-way and two-way channel owners (Community Center, Resource Center, social, CX, email) to define editorial approach and messaging, then manage campaign-related feedback to the business to inform decision making
  • Develop proactive and reactive communications plans
  • Work with channel owners to report out on key reach and engagement metrics as well as relevant business metrics. Partner with the ops team to manage & distribute sentiment dashboards, both announcement-specific and ongoing.
  • Champion the community and user in all decisions
  • Oversee creative collaboration between product design, content strategy, community and marketing teams
  • Serve as both an individual contributor and a cross-functional leader

  • Writing samples and/or a portfolio of work to share
  • Ability to lead and drive initiatives across a matrixed organization, solve problems and influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing through cross functional teams
  • Versed in product strategy, design and development principles and processes
  • Managed creative agencies and led creative production
  • Conducted, synthesized and applied user insights, research and testing to marketing strategy
  • Passion for Airbnb. Airbnb hosts are preferred.
