This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented engineering team supporting critical Department of Defense IT operations.
In this role, you'll be the hands-on technical expert for ServiceNow SPM, helping improve how the organization manages projects, resources, budgets, and strategic priorities.
We're looking for someone who knows how to build, configure, troubleshoot, and improve ServiceNow SPM solutions while keeping the platform secure, reliable, and easy to maintain.
This is a hands-on engineering role, not just a ServiceNow administrator or project management position.
What You'll Do
- Configure, implement, and maintain ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM/PPM) capabilities.
- Support Demand Management, Project Management, Resource Management, Financial Management, and Strategic Planning.
- Develop and improve workflows, business rules, client scripts, forms, and UI policies.
- Build dashboards, reports, and KPIs to improve project and portfolio visibility.
- Develop integrations between ServiceNow SPM and other modules, including ITSM and CMDB/ITOM, using REST and SOAP.
- Work with business analysts and stakeholders to turn requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Evaluate existing customizations and use out-of-the-box ServiceNow functionality whenever possible.
- Troubleshoot application issues and support platform performance, security, and reliability.
- Assist with ServiceNow upgrades, patches, testing, and migrations.
- Collaborate with the broader ServiceNow engineering team to ensure solutions follow platform standards.
What We're Looking For
- 4–6+ years of specific hands-on ServiceNow engineering, development, configuration, or implementation experience.
- 2+ years of direct ServiceNow SPM or PPM experience.
- Strong experience with Demand Management, Project Management, Resource Management, Investment Funding, Strategic Planning Workspace, and Goal Framework.
- Experience developing with JavaScript, Glide API, business rules, client scripts, UI actions, and workflows.
- Experience building and supporting REST and SOAP integrations.
- Experience creating ServiceNow dashboards, reports, and KPIs.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management.
- Understanding of ServiceNow platform upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to determine when customization is necessary versus using standard ServiceNow functionality.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical teams and customers.
- Active Secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Education & Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- High school diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CIS-SPM/PPM, or CAD.
- Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies and ServiceNow Agile Development.
- Additional ServiceNow experience with ITSM, CMDB, or Service Catalog.
- Experience supporting DoD or other federal government environments.
- Familiarity with USCENTCOM/J6 mission requirements.
