About the Team
DoorDash's mission is to grow and empower local economies. The Dasher Retention Marketing team is responsible for building lasting relationships with our Dasher community through personalized, scalable, cross-channel experiences that drive engagement, satisfaction, and long-term retention. We connect Dashers with the right message at the right moment across their lifecycle — from onboarding and activation through re-engagement and loyalty — using CRM channels including email, push, in-app messaging, and SMS.
About the Role
We are looking for a strategic, creative, and execution-oriented lifecycle marketer to join the Dasher Retention Marketing team as a Senior Associate. In this role, you will own CRM strategy, development, and build end-to-end across the Dasher lifecycle — from defining the retention strategy for a workstream, to designing and building the campaigns that bring it to life, to analyzing results and iterating.
You will be responsible for developing integrated retention strategies that maximize Dasher engagement and satisfaction, while owning the technical execution — segmentation, build, QA, and launch — that brings those strategies to market. The ideal candidate can think big picture about retention strategy in one moment and dive into the weeds of campaign build, QA, and reporting in the next.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Own end-to-end campaign strategy, development, and build — define the retention strategy for key workstreams on the Dasher retention team, then design and build the lifecycle programs that execute it across email, push, in-app messaging, and SMS channels.
- Design and build end-to-end campaigns with an emphasis on experimentation — manage audience segmentation, targeting, creative briefing and production, QA, launch, and post-campaign analysis within Braze and other internal tools.
- Partner cross-functionally — collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Integrated Marketing, and Strategy & Operations teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact retention programs.
- Analyze and iterate — review campaign performance, identify trends, and make data-informed recommendations to continuously improve retention strategy
- Connect individual projects to broader initiatives — ensure Dashers reached through individual campaigns are retained and progressed through ongoing lifecycle programs, from onboarding through resurrection.
- Stay current on best practices — monitor emerging trends in Retention Marketing and leverage your experience to uplevel the team around you.
- Expand your AI adoption and skillset — use DoorDash's robust suite of AI tools to accelerate experiment velocity and impact
We're excited about you because you have…
- 4+ years of experience in CRM, email, or lifecycle marketing
- Deep familiarity with CRM technology including ESPs and marketing automation platforms (e.g. Braze, Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Customer.io)
- Experience owning end-to-end lifecycle or retention strategy and execution, including experimentation, audience segmentation, targeting, QA, and performance analysis
- Ability to interpret data to inform campaign strategy and make thoughtful tradeoffs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly with technical teammates
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with creative, analytics, and product or strategy teams
- A record of business results through developing and deploying marketing strategy and campaigns across CRM channels
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and adapting plans based on performance learnings or shifting business priorities
- Basic knowledge of SQL, HTML, and data visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, Sigma, Periscope) is a plus
- Experience with AI tools to improve campaign velocity and impact (Claude/ChatGPT, Cursor, etc) is a plus
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
